Hoya Lens UK have axed a number of jobs from their factory on Wrexham Industrial Estate in response to the factory moving some of its workload to a sister company in Thailand. A spokesperson said that the cuts were not redundancies, but were a result of temporary contracts coming to an end, and the factory running at a “more stable level of production”.

Wrexham food plant Fenmarc have made 60 of their 190 staff redundant. Fenmarc, formally known as Pann Krisp, and a supplier of own label freshly prepared ready to cook meals, had announced at the beginning of the month that there were going to be redundancies. Administrators Deloitte hope the business can be sold as a going concern.

Have made a note in my diary to research the Off the Cuff Menswear building in Wrexham. The building is beautiful inside and it’s beams date back 550 years. They are believed to be from a recycled ship. Look in the album on this ad for some pictures.
